Joanne has been a valued member of Netball Hutt Valley for well over 45 years. She commenced her playing career in the late 1960’s for the Graelyn Club. Over the years this Club morphed into Valley United, Naenae Valley United, and now Naenae Collegians United Netball Club.

Jo was instrumental in negotiating these Club amalgamations, and for setting in place the environment for the new committees to work cohesively together as a newly merged club. This would transpire into building a strong new Club, with good administration processes and people, strong coaching resources, and ultimately bring much success to Club teams on the court over many years.

Joanne’s love of netball and her dedication to the sport has benefitted many young people, and many not so young people, over a very long netball career. Her contributions in all aspects, whether it be playing, coaching or administration has seen her gladly give so much time, effort, experience and knowledge, that we believe she whole-heartedly deserves to be considered in the Hutt Valley Sports Awards for her exceptional service to Hutt Valley Sport.
